Diane and Betsy came to the island last weekend for an intimate wedding at the Wauwinet. The weekend kicked off Friday night at a beach house in Pocomo named Nippanoose, with DIY preparations for the wedding and an intimate lobster bake catered by Sayles Seafood. The weather was beautiful and the setting was idyllic.
Unfortunately, by mid morning Saturday the barometer dropped, clouds closed in and it started raining. Preparations to move the ceremony inside were almost complete when the rain miraculously stopped. Soon thereafter, the clouds cleared out and it became a beautiful day. We were able to have the ceremony on the beach!
With the sun was shining, there was not a dry eye on the beach as Betsy and Diane exchanged vows surrounded by their friends and family. The power of the love these two share is reflected in their friends and family who were all beaming with joy for the couple. After the ceremony, Raleigh, their handsome permanent puppy, lead everyone off the beach and back inside for dinner at Topper’s. Following the wonderful meal and touching speeches, the party moved outside to enjoy some fresh air and dessert. The night was capped with a heart warming rendition of I Will Always Love You and a very playful sparkler sendoff.
Nothing could outshine the love Betsy and Diane have for one another. It was a delight to spend the weekend with this couple and their friends and family. I will never forget their wedding and wish them only the best.
~ Enjoy, Brian
