To say that wedding planning and replanning during a pandemic is stressful may be the greatest understatement! Caitlyn and Carey’s wedding date changed three times, but with the uncertainty of safety, especially in California where Plans A, B and C were to take place, they decided to get married at her family’s home on Nantucket. The seaside property at 124 Tom Nevers is a popular wedding venue on island with a large space for a big tent and ocean views. To Caitlyn and Carey, it was also home this summer.
Putting together a wedding in a very short time with a small group of vendors is never easy, but with the help of Jolene Peterson from Laurel & Rose, the couple ended up with a memorable day after all. After a quick and brisk first look overlooking the water, Carey’s sister and Caitlyn’s brother officiated the wedding ceremony under her family’s chuppah. Guests who couldn’t make it were Zoomed in with the help of Yellow Productions. We ventured out to Sankaty Lighthouse for some very gusty portraits, then back to Tom Nevers for a chilly but pretty sunset.
It’s always a little bittersweet when couples need to downsize and postpone, but to see them still have a great time and put love first is so special.
