We provide one hour and half hours sessions for family portrait sessions. Either at home, your favorite lighthouse, the beach or a shady, sheltered area in town, we'll help you choose the right spot.

The beginning of your story together is your engagement. It's also the best opportunity to get to know your photographer and break the ice, so you're really comfortable in front of the camera for the big day.

Whether it's an elopement with just the two of you and an officiant, micro weddings of under 30 people, average sized weddings around 100 guests, or the biggest events of over 300 people, we enjoy covering it all.

your wedding questions, answered

Q: How far ahead should we contact you to book our wedding?

A: Many wedding dates are high in demand, especially in June, September and October. We encourage couples to reach out ASAP in order to secure us for their wedding photography. Since we do book as far as 18 months in advance, our calendar fills up quickly for hot dates.

Q: Do you photograph elopements too?

A: Absolutely! We love to capture weddings of all sizes. From midweek elopements with the 2 of you, to micro weddings with 30 guests, and large, multi-day events with 300+ loved ones, we can handle it all.

Q: Can can you incorporate film photography?

A: Film is the medium that Zofia started with in high school, and used for weddings the first 9 years in business. She never stopped shooting rolls of film for her personal work and on vacation. Now that it's back in style, she's happy to offer it as a highlight add on or as full day hybrid coverage.

Q: Will you help us with wedding planning?

A: We're always happy to guide you in the right direction towards the vendors we work best with, but we like to leave the hardcore planning to the experts. Once you're booked with us, our Wedding Guide will come with a curated list of helpful tips to get you on your way to the perfect day!

The beginning of your story together is your engagement. Not only is this a sweet time with just the two of you, but it's also the best opportunity to get to know your photographer and break the ice, so you're really comfortable in front of the camera for the big day.

Propose to your loved one while we hide out and capture their reaction!

Engagement sessions and marriage proposal are available to couples whether or not they are getting married on Nantucket.

Engagement Sessions

book your session

your engagement questions, answered

Q: Why is an Engagement Session a fantastic idea?

A: Consider this as a time for us to break the ice and loosen you up in front of the camera, an opportunity to have photos from your favorite Nantucket locations that you may not have time to get to at your wedding, for you to see how we work, and to learn some tips and tricks for making your wedding day portraits amazing.

Q: When should we start planning our Engagement Session?

A: As soon as you have plans to come to the island, let us know. We book up fast in the summer and fall with family portraits, and on the weekends with weddings. We are available mid-week, M-Th, for engagements in season, though if you're only out here on weekends, we can try to squeeze you in on a Friday or Sunday. May-October is a better bet weather-wise than the off season when it's quite grey and chilly here... though Christmas Stroll is a fun weekend and festive, if that's the vibe you're going for.

Q: What time of day is best?

A: That hour prior to sunset is prime time for golden light and our favorite time of day for any kind of portrait. That's when we'll have the most flattering on a sunny day. Any earlier on a sunny day and we're fighting harsh shadows and dealing with squinting, so we're limited to shady areas of which there aren't too many on the island. You should plan on a little wiggle room though, in case the weather turns and we need to bump the time up a bit. We are on an island, after all. If it's an overcast day, we can shoot whenever and wherever. Clouds are good!

Q: Should I get my hair and makeup done?

A: That's a fabulous idea, especially if you can schedule your wedding hair and makeup trials with your stylists early in the day. Just be sure you give ample time for the stylists to run late and do their thing, and in case we do need to bump up for the weather.

Q: What locations are best?

A: We like to get to know a little about why Nantucket is important to you, and what you like to do while you're here. Do you have a vacation home here? What's your typical evening on island look like? Were you engaged on Nantucket? Where was your first on island date? Any place that's special to you is where we'd like to take you. If there is a spot you particularly love but you won't have time to get to on your wedding day, let's go there too! We're happy to tailor the itinerary of the session based on all this.

Q: What if the weather isn't cooperating?

A: Depends! Are you a go with the flow type of couple? Umbrellas and rain boots can be fun, but often the rain brings wind with it and the wind is what will really dampen your session. We'll be in touch the week of your session to check on the weather and confirm the meeting location, time and date. But if the weather is a complete wash, we'll reschedule, even if that means having a little session the week of your wedding

Q: What should we wear?

A: Plan to wear something coordinating but not matching, and something comfortable but that you feel incredible in. Be sure you can walk, sit and dip your toes in the ocean in the outfits (if we're heading to the beach). Obviously don't wear heels (cobblestones!).

Q: Help! We are super camera shy and awkward!

A: Great! Then an engagement session is PERFECT for you! You'll learn little tips on the most flattering way to stand/sit, and we'll break the ice really quick. You'll feel a lot more confident in front of the camera on your wedding day after having an engagement session.

Q: Can we incorporate a fun activity?

A: If you really enjoy surfing, scalloping or riding bikes when we’re on Nantucket, let's do it. YES. We love doing anything fun and different. What do you have in mind? Let us know!

We provide one hour and half hours sessions for family portrait sessions. Either at home, your favorite lighthouse, the beach or a shady, sheltered area in town, we'll help you choose the right spot according to what you love and what the sun and wind are doing that day.

Headshots, senior sessions, maternity and newborn sessions are also available.

Portrait sessions are photographed exclusively on Nantucket.

Family Portrait Sessions

your portrait questions, answered

Q: Do we get the digital files, and how many?

A: We include a curated set of individually edited, high res, digital files from your session. This is about 20-30 images for a mini session and roughly 50-80 images for an hour session. The number varies depending on how many family members are at your session and how expressive your group is. You may copy the files for safekeeping (and please do!), print them for personal use (meaning you can't use them for commercial purposes that promote a business or claim them as your own in contests, etc).  After you download the images, you can post them on social media (with credit to Zofia & Co.) and make prints at the lab of your choice.

Q: What's our print credit for?

A: Photographs are meant to be printed. Your print credit can be used towards any print or product in your online gallery until the expiration date, 6 months after your session. We want all of our clients have a professionally edited, professionally printed finished product when they work with us. All digital media fails and expires, printed photographs last! Consider the credit a little gift from us, a few prints to get you started. Anyone you send the online ordering gallery to may order edited prints and products directly through us.

Q: What should we wear?

A: A few tips:
  • Pastels always work with our landscape.
  • Dress to coordinate, but not match.
  • Be comfortable enough to walk, sit, not have to adjust your clothing often.
We have a portrait prep guide that we'll send you when you book with us. This will have recommendations on what to bring, how to prepare your kids, and what to wear.

Q: What if it rains?

A: If the weather isn't cooperating, we'll look for another good time during your stay. The wind tends to be a factor out here, so we often make a plan B for location to make sure you're not totally being blown around. We're pretty flexible. But if your entire trip is a wash, you have a year to reschedule with your booking.

Q: We don't think we photograph well. Can you help us warm up?

A: Absolutely! We start every session chatting with you and your kids, breaking the ice, and taking some natural photos of you all interacting and playing before posing you. Once we do pose, it’s so casual, you won’t even know you’re doing it.

Q: How soon can we book our session?

A: Our calendar fills up about 6-8 weeks prior in the summer, and much earlier for the busiest weeks. If you’re trying to book last minute, one of us may be available. The bulk of our portraits are photographed in 2 short months, and only midweek Monday-Thursday. We average about 100 sessions within that time so you can imagine how busy we get!

Q: What should we wear?

 KACIE & MYLES

We cannot express how lucky we were to have Zofia photograph our wedding. And that is severely underselling all that she did.

Her photos were the biggest contribution to the wedding. They were not only incredibly beautiful, they also captured emotions and personality better than we have seen before. She truly has a talent and we think it comes from a potent combination of both skill and compassion.

"Our Dream Photographer!"

GRETA & ZACH

Working with Zofia was a dream come true. From start to finish, she went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Zofia has an incredible ability to not only capture wedding portraits but also the candid, in-between moments that tell the true story of the day.

Zofia's love for Nantucket and the couples she works with shines through in her pictures.

"One of the best decisions we made!"

words from

- Katy & Graham

"Zofia captured the most gorgeous photos I've ever seen for our wedding day. We battled all the elements together (wind, rain, hail, thunder and lightning) and we managed to get pictures that belong in a museum! She truly is down for anything and wants to help you achieve the perfect shot to capture this special day."

testimonial

We know how important this day is, and we want you to enjoy every second of it. With our deep knowledge of Nantucket’s light, landscapes, and hidden gems, we’ll guide you effortlessly so we get those dreamy, natural shots you’ll treasure forever.

It takes a special connection with your subject to draw out the trust and candidness that we get by using our years of experience and our love for what we do.

It's all about the romance of a wedding day and the joining of two families; the age old traditions and the new ones being made, the gathering of people who haven't seen each other in far too long, the bittersweet moment of a father giving away his daughter, the look in the flower girl's eyes as she admires the bride, the words of wisdom given from a grandmother, the special piece of lace from her wedding veil that is pinned to the bride's gown, the look on the groom when he first sees the woman who minutes later will be his wife, the dynamic love between two souls, and the big party at the end of the night to celebrate it all.

Clients often tell us how comfortable they felt working with us – and that means everything.
