Zach proposed to Donna last Christmas, after oh… a few years (or more) of dating. ;) Donna is a casting director based in L.A., and Zach, who takes after his father Dan of September Productions, is a talented cinematographer with a big resume of his own. Both being in “the biz” and having an eye for beautiful things; well, one just knew their wedding at his parents’ Nantucket home ‘The Magic Hour‘ was going to be special. I’ve known Zach through his parents, and through working a few weddings together, and have followed his work a bit. But when I photographed his and Donna’s Nantucket Engagement Session this past spring, I just wanted to become best friends with them both.
As soon as Zach’s mother Connie, an interior designer with the best taste, heard about the engagement, she set out to turn their home into the most ethereal, romantic wedding location. Complete with amazing landscaping, a water features, and a clear tent under which Betsey Brooks Floral and Design hung gorgeous greens, the event was a feast for the eyes. Speaking of feasts, Nantucket Catering Company served by breakfast for dinner with such comfort foods as Croque Monsieur and bacon.
Donna’s flowy, peachy toned gown, her bridesmaids’ lacy dresses, and Zach’s Forage Haberdashery bow tie completed their unique wedding look. Their wedding party included their adorable nieces and nephews. Donna and Zach are the type of couple that when they look at each other, you just hope to one day have someone look at you that way – like you’re the only person on Earth. They shine love.
Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your amazing day. xo

Eliza & Taylor’s journey to the altar was delayed due to the pandemic, but certainly worth the wait! Eliza’s mother, Laura, reached out in early 2019 to let me in on surprise proposal plans that Taylor had while the couple was hiking in Spain. She said yes, and a few months later I got to […]

Mick proposed in Ocean Beach, California just about a year ago by sneaking a ring […]
There is something wild going on with the hydrangeas on Nantucket this summer- they are just so lush! Katie & Phil took a break from wedding planning to have some engagement photos taken on the most gorgeous July evening. A wonderful couple who is game for anything and that sweet golden hour light made for […]
Danielle & David were married at the First Congregational Church with their reception following on a private property in Shawkemo. The couple’s first vacation together was to Nantucket, so it was just the perfect place to plan their August wedding. With the help of Maggie from Nantucket Island Events, they put together a stunning wedding […]
It felt a little bit like fall for Annie & Larry’s ‘Sconset wedding last weekend and no one was complaining about it. It’s been a hot and humid summer and we are all looking forward to the cooler, dryer feel of September…and of course, weddings! Annie & Larry kicked off my September wedding season with […]

For Caroline, the wedding day began at her family home in downtown Nantucket- a former whaling captain’s home once owned by the Macy family, one of the original founders of the island.
