John proposed to Ali in May of 2021 in Rye, NY. It’s one of her happy places that reminds her of Nantucket! The plan was to play tennis with her brother and his girlfriend after a long work day. When they arrived at the tennis court, John suggested that she open a new can of balls and to her surprise, a ring box fell out after two tennis balls, and John proposed right there! They will be wed at the First Congregational Church next year, and so for their engagement photos Ali wanted to spend time in her other happy place, around Wauwinet where she has a family home. I have to admit it’s one of my favorite places on the island, too!
