Our summer and fall evenings are spent photographing portraits at Brant Point or Sankaty Lighthouse, in Sconset or Madaket, on Steps Beach or Jetties, and so many more magical places. We photograph nearly 100 Nantucket portrait sessions in that time, primarily family portraits! Our sessions are casual and fun rather than stiff and posed. We love capturing families as they interact with one another, making each other smile and laugh.
We have so many favorite locations on island to photograph families, but the best is when there’s a spot that’s special to that family. Where dad proposed to mom, their summer home, the beach they always go to, or where their baby took his first steps. It’s also fun to introduce a family to a new beach or one of our secret spots and make them fall in love with Nantucket in a new way.
Seeing the same families year after year is so special. It reminds us that what we do is more than snapping photos, it’s documenting life and memories.
Below are highlights by Zofia & Mark of the 2019 portrait season, just one photo from about half the sessions we captured this past season. If you’re looking for a Nantucket portrait photographer during your next vacation or you’re a local who would like summer portraits, be sure to contact us soon! Our portrait calendar begins to book up over the winter for peak dates, and fills up about 4-6 weeks prior in the summer.
Eliza & Taylor’s journey to the altar was delayed due to the pandemic, but certainly worth the wait! Eliza’s mother, Laura, reached out in early 2019 to let me in on surprise proposal plans that Taylor had while the couple was hiking in Spain. She said yes, and a few months later I got to […]
Jen & Mick were married at the Siasconset Union Chapel with their reception following at the Chanticleer restaurant. Jen grew up coming to Nantucket every summer with her parents and sisters, and Mick grew up visiting nearby on the Cape. Mick proposed in Ocean Beach, California just about a year ago by sneaking a ring […]
There is something wild going on with the hydrangeas on Nantucket this summer- they are just so lush! Katie & Phil took a break from wedding planning to have some engagement photos taken on the most gorgeous July evening. A wonderful couple who is game for anything and that sweet golden hour light made for […]
Danielle & David were married at the First Congregational Church with their reception following on a private property in Shawkemo. The couple’s first vacation together was to Nantucket, so it was just the perfect place to plan their August wedding. With the help of Maggie from Nantucket Island Events, they put together a stunning wedding […]
It felt a little bit like fall for Annie & Larry’s ‘Sconset wedding last weekend and no one was complaining about it. It’s been a hot and humid summer and we are all looking forward to the cooler, dryer feel of September…and of course, weddings! Annie & Larry kicked off my September wedding season with […]

For Caroline, the wedding day began at her family home in downtown Nantucket- a former whaling captain’s home once owned by the Macy family, one of the original founders of the island. Mark and his groomsmen […]
