Sometimes love just wants to go for a nice long walk.
Because love loves exercise.
It runs you around the block and leaves you panting.
It pulls you in several different directions at once,
or winds around and around you
until you’re all wound up and can’t move.
An excerpt from How Love is like Owning a Dog, read by Rachel’s grandmother during the ceremony, by Taylor Mali

Rachel & Kris were married in an outdoor ceremony on the green at the Nantucket Golf Club. When I met the couple last year, I just knew I’d want to be a part of their tribe. They are dog lovers, they live in Colorado, they snowboard, they hike fourteeners, they mountain bike, and they’re not afraid to get wet and dirty – they are my kind of people.
Their laid back style, their genuine smiles, and their obvious love and happiness for being together draws you in. You can’t help but smile when they smile. As Rachel’s brother Cliff puts it “Rachel has stars in her eyes.” Rachel and Kris met in Boulder 4 years ago, and after a series of ‘non-dates’ as they called them, they fell in love and chose Nantucket as the best place to get married. Rachel grew up summering here on island, staying at her family’s home in ‘Sconset and working at the Market. It was that home where Kris and Rachel had their first look on their wedding day, starting the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.

Eliza & Taylor’s journey to the altar was delayed due to the pandemic, but certainly worth the wait! Eliza’s mother, Laura, reached out in early 2019 to let me in on surprise proposal plans that Taylor had while the couple was hiking in Spain. She said yes, and a few months later I got to […]
Jen & Mick were married at the Siasconset Union Chapel with their reception following at the Chanticleer restaurant. Jen grew up coming to Nantucket every summer with her parents and sisters, and Mick grew up visiting nearby on the Cape. Mick proposed in Ocean Beach, California just about a year ago by sneaking a ring […]
There is something wild going on with the hydrangeas on Nantucket this summer- they are just so lush! Katie & Phil took a break from wedding planning to have some engagement photos taken on the most gorgeous July evening. A wonderful couple who is game for anything and that sweet golden hour light made for […]
Danielle & David were married at the First Congregational Church with their reception following on a private property in Shawkemo. The couple’s first vacation together was to Nantucket, so it was just the perfect place to plan their August wedding. With the help of Maggie from Nantucket Island Events, they put together a stunning wedding […]
It felt a little bit like fall for Annie & Larry’s ‘Sconset wedding last weekend and no one was complaining about it. It’s been a hot and humid summer and we are all looking forward to the cooler, dryer feel of September…and of course, weddings! Annie & Larry kicked off my September wedding season with […]
Caroline & Mark were married at the First Congregational Church with their reception following at the Nantucket Golf Club. For Caroline, the wedding day began at her family home in downtown Nantucket- a former whaling captain’s home once owned by the Macy family, one of the original founders of the island. Mark and his groomsmen […]
