Chris & Ryan met on Nantucket, and nearly 7 years later they finally tied the knot. While the forecast called for soaking rain all day, forcing them to move their ceremony to the terrace at the Dreamland, the couple never let the weather dampen their spirits. This was by far one of the most cheerful and genuinely happy weddings I’ve attended recently, and because both Chris and Ryan live and work on island, there were no shortage of familiar faces.
The couple started off their day at the White Elephant, both wearing tailored Gucci suits, shoes, and ties. Chris was also sporting a pair of cufflinks that his grandmother gave to his grandfather upon his safe return home from World War II. Their wedding party was an large group of friends: girls wearing autumn colored dresses and carrying bouquets, while the men were sporting colorful boutonnieres. The whole group paraded with the Ryan and Chris through town to the Dreamland Theater, where Chris’s father officiated an very heartfelt ceremony overlooking Nantucket Harbor.
Between the ceremony and reception at Straight Wharf Restaurant, I took Chris and Ryan around downtown taking a few photos. Right as we were starting to walk towards the reception the island’s notorious fog closed in around us, creating beautiful lighting for photos. At the reception, there was an abundance of amazing locally sourced food, touching speeches and toasts, an extremely popular StudioBooth, and dancing all to the amazing music of Jeff Ross and the Atlantics.
Ceremony: The Dreamland, Reception: Straight Wharf, Flowers: Down to Earth/Betsy Brown, Cake: Kelly Badger, Suits: Gucci, Band: Jeff Ross and the Atlantics
Best wishes to this wonderful couple, I look forward to showing you guys all the photos taken in the StudioBooth!

Eliza & Taylor’s journey to the altar was delayed due to the pandemic, but certainly worth the wait! Eliza’s mother, Laura, reached out in early 2019 to let me in on surprise proposal plans that Taylor had while the couple was hiking in Spain. She said yes, and a few months later I got to […]
Jen & Mick were married at the Siasconset Union Chapel with their reception following at the Chanticleer restaurant. Mick proposed in Ocean Beach, California just about a year ago by sneaking a ring […]

It felt a little bit like fall for Annie & Larry’s ‘Sconset wedding last weekend and no one was complaining about it. It’s been a hot and humid summer and we are all looking forward to the cooler, dryer feel of September…and of course, weddings! Annie & Larry kicked off my September wedding season with […]
