Kaitlyn & Tim were married at St. Mary’s Church with their reception following at Sankaty Head Golf Club.
Tim the IV is the forth generation to come to Nantucket from his side of the family. His great grandfather led the way by buying a home here on Baxter Rd in Sconset in 1950. Though that home was sold due to the Sconset Bluff erosion, the legacy continues as his family now has another gorgeous home in Sconset where his parents hosted the couple’s rehearsal dinner party the night before the wedding day.
Kaitlyn’s heritage is Irish and the couple visit Ireland often. They incorporated many Irish touches on their wedding day such as shamrocks embroidered on Kaitlyn’s veil, flying the Irish flag, an Irish song performed by Claire Cunningham at the ceremony, and Kaitlyn’s Irish grandmother said the traditional blessing, Hail Mary As Gaeilge, before dinner. Kaitlyn even performed an Irish step dance with young local dancers!
The couple met very late one evening nearly 5 years ago at a bar in NYC. Tim approached her best friend, and future matron of honor, Brianne, to ask if Kaitlyn would like to dance. And the rest is history.
The wedding day was a sunny one and the Nantucket wind was in full force, but smiles were all around because it really was a perfect day topped off by a stunning sunset.
The newly renovated Sankaty Head Golf Club looks great and has so much more room now since the bar has been moved. Anyone considering the venue should do a site visit and check it out. We love it.

It felt a little bit like fall for Annie & Larry’s ‘Sconset wedding last weekend and no one was complaining about it. It’s been a hot and humid summer and we are all looking forward to the cooler, dryer feel of September…and of course, weddings! Annie & Larry kicked off my September wedding season with […]
