Ashley & Matt were married at the White Elephant overlooking the Nantucket harbor. It was one of the nicest, crisp days we seen all summer.
In Jewish tradition, the couple saw each other before the ceremony to sign the Ketubah, they were married under a beautiful chuppah, Matt broke glass as everyone wished them Mazel Tov! and guests danced the Horah as they raised the couple and their parents on chairs to Hava Nagila. The ceremony was officiated by Matt’s college friend, and Million Dollar Listing NYC broker, Michael Lorber. As with the rest of the day, the ceremony had everyone laughing. To top it all off, the couple’s sweet dog Jack served as ring bearer in a super cute navy and pink suit that matched the groomsmen – loosely.
Matt shared his proposal story :
“Ashley and I got engaged on Passover. Tradition holds that before the festival meal or seder, the matzah is broken in half. One half is then hidden as the afikomen. Typically after the first part of the meal, the children try to find it and get a small prize. At our house, I hid the afikomen with a note that Ashley needed to redeem for her prize. When she emerged, I got down on one knee and proposed.”
Ashley and Matt love spending time on island biking, boating, swimming, and cooking for friends. Many familiar faces were seen at the wedding, such as White Elephant and Nantucket Island Resorts owner Stephen Karp with his wife Jill, and our past wedding couple Jackie and Todd. Guests danced away as a bright pink sky lit up the harbor at sunset.

It felt a little bit like fall for Annie & Larry’s ‘Sconset wedding last weekend and no one was complaining about it.
