To say this was a wedding for the books would be an understatement. It started however, like any other wedding with a bride and groom getting ready in their separate spaces, putting on makeup, fixing up the cufflinks. I mean, with only a 20 percent chance of rain, what could happen?! We started with a first look overlooking the Atlantic, Maggie came up behind Todd and tapped him on the shoulder and there were huge smiles all round! We wanted to get ahead of cocktail hour and take all of the portraits before hand. After a few pictures on the bluff we ran straight into family photos before the rain drops started to fall. Little did we know how the weather was about to turn.
The rain was relentless and the wind blew so hard it knocked chairs over and guests held onto the tent poles in fear it would topple! It was all hands on deck, tables were moved, band equipment relocated and guests that were arriving took cover under the tent. Maggie and Todd waited for the storm to pass and with the help of a few libations and a rendition of “Here comes the sun”, we rallied, dried off the chairs and got going with the ceremony! I think the libations helped change the mood as even when it poured for a few minutes during the ceremony, spirits were high and the couple never flinched or faltered with their I do’s. Then of course, the sun came out and we even saw a rainbow. Ahh, New England.
Spirits were up, we took a few more photos outside before another super cell majestically made it’s way over the tent, but by that time the crowd was having way too much fun to notice. Congratulations on an amazing wedding, Maggie & Todd!

It felt a little bit like fall for Annie & Larry’s ‘Sconset wedding last weekend and no one was complaining about it. It’s been a hot and humid summer and we are all looking forward to the cooler, dryer feel of September…and of course, weddings! Annie & Larry kicked off my September wedding season with […]
