When Grant met Courtney, the first thing he said was “I’m going to marry you one day”. Ten years later, he made true on that promise. The couple were married at the First Congregational Church with a wedding reception following at the Nantucket Yacht Club.
Courtney and Grant are very close with their parents and family, as shown throughout the entire day with genuine love and huge smiles. Courtney wore her grandmother’s diamond necklace, carried her grandmother’s purse, had sewn a piece of her mother’s wedding dress and father’s shirt into her wedding gown, and gifted her parents with personalized keepsakes such as embroidered handkerchiefs. Grant’s family bible was used in the ceremony, and his intricately designed wedding ring is a replica of his father’s ring. Their beloved pup Penny couldn’t make it out to the wedding, so to honor her, they had a cute cake topper in her likeness. But the coolest thing was the bulldog cake that was made as a surprise to Grant on the night before by Jodi’s Cakes.
After the ceremony, the party made it’s way down to the Yacht Club led by a bagpiper. I took the couple to Brant Point for a little portrait session, and then we hopped onto the boat, Rover, back to the Yacht Club for sunset. The reception was a big party accompanied by One Step Ahead who had everyone dancing into the night.
